The Power of Hope!

Life can be tough! There are unforeseen, uninvited, and unwelcome events, news, and heartaches like potholes that fill the road of life. Hitting them can jar your heart. Some are so deep, you may run off the road. It may even seem that things are beyond repair! What do we need? We do not need more money. The most important things in life can’t be bought with money. What every person needs, but not all have, is free! That is HOPE!

Hope can get us through the next moment, the next hour, the next day. Hope drives us further and keeps us in the fight longer than anything else. When all else fails, there is hope. But the basis of our hope must be true. To have hope because of a wistful feeling or “sense” often turns into an unworthy foundation. Hope is not based on hope. That is like believing you will pass a test because you believe. However, if you know the questions and answers to the test before you take it, then you can have a certain HOPE that you will pass.

Life is like a test. We are tested in many ways! Some tests we can pass without too much difficulty. But then there are those tests which ask questions that we cannot answer. We will fail miserably and we know it. Enter hope. But not a hope based on hope or even knowing the answers. But hope that is based on the Answer! The Lord Jesus is the true foundation of our hope. Not some kind of wistful hope based on sentiment or religious feelings. But hope based on the fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This certain hope gives us peace when the storms of life assault us. We serve a “God of hope.” He is not a God of dread or a God of the dead. But He is the God of HOPE.

Today, walk in the joy of that hope. Know the incredible peace that comes from having a heart full of hope because Jesus sits on the throne.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭NASB‬‬
