Misinterpreting God’s patience

Timeless truths about God’s patience. Why doesn’t God execute His judgment on sinners quickly? That is the question Paul tackles in the first part of Romans 2. Here is the answer:

“Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

God has restrained His judgment on “sinners” (which includes those who are very religious) in order to give them time to repent. Instead, those who continue in their sin while condemning others take God’s kindness as approval of their sin. Please do not mistake God’s patience with you and your sin as His willingness to allow it. His wonderful mercy and grace gives us time to turn away from our sin and trust in Him.
