Timeless truths about wealth. Our culture exalts wealth. There is nothing morally wrong with riches. It is when our priority and trust is in wealth. Wealth can provide comforts but not comfort. It can buy pleasure but not peace. It may built a marvelous house but not a home. Wealth can be your purpose or it can be used to fulfill your purpose. Wealth is fleeting. All the things that impresses others today will be in a scrapyard one day.
Trust in the Lord and be content with your possessions. Wealth can easily deceive. Our security is not in fleeting riches but in the God who created everything. The treasure for which we work is eternal. His riches will last infinitely longer than the treasures of this world.
“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!” James 5:1-3 NASB
