Those who teach from the Bible…

Timeless truth about teachers. Those who are “teachers” in the Church will be held to “a stricter judgment.” First notice that the higher the degree of responsibility, the greater the accountability. James actually discourages people from becoming teachers for this very reason. Second, notice that there is a judgment! The New Testament is replete with references to the “Bema” Seat of Judgment. Jesus will judge each of our works. Third, some will be held to a higher degree of accountability. Notice the word “stricter.” It is used 7 times in the New Testament. It is translated “greater” and “larger.” Here it is translated stricter. It could be translated heavier. So, those who teach will have a heavier judgment than those who don’t teach. Why? Because teaching influences what others believe. Be careful what you teach others from the Scripture!

“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.” James‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NASB‬‬
