7 tests

Timeless truths from Philippians 4:8.

An archeologist wouldn’t consider digging without a sifter. A writer wouldn’t consider releasing a book without using an editor. A mechanic wouldn’t consider working on an engine without tools. All these things are essential for success. The same can be said of a Christian. Here’s how it would sound: A Christian would not consider dwelling in thought on something without a sevenfold filter!

If you are going to excel in your walk with Christ, using a mind filter is essential. In order for thoughts to camp, they must pass a 7fold test! Those seven things are listed in Philippians 4:8. We must ask these questions: Is it true? Honorable? RIght? Pure? Lovely? Admirable? Praiseworthy? If it passes all 7 tests, then allow your mind to dwell there.

Sifting our minds; taking captive every thought is a tremendous discipline. It is also a discipline with incredible benefits. You will think right so you will live right. You will avoid unhealthy emotions and habits. You will be confident and contagious. Your mind will be uncluttered with garbage! Your perspective will be clear.

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬
