Timeless truths from Philippians 4:4-5.
He was robbed at gunpoint while visiting a hospital in Atlanta. That evening he wrote in his journal: “I am grateful that it was I who was robbed, not I who did the robbing. While my wallet was taken, my life was spared.” Those were the words of Matthew Henry. He found something to be grateful for in a bad set of circumstances.
God tells us to “Rejoice in the Lord always.” Why? Because He loves you. Nothing on this earth or in hell or anything else can separate you from His love. You will spend eternity with Him.
There is something about having a joyful heart that produces a gentle spirit. I’ve thought about joyful people that I have known through the years. They all had a gentle spirit. Your experience may be the same. Joyful people have a gentle spirit.
“The Lord is near.” Shouldn’t that be enough motivation to be full of Joy and gentle in spirit?
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4:4-5 NASB
