Timeless truths from Philippians 2:28-30.
Who do you hold in “high regard”? Paul encouraged the church at Philippi to hold men like Epaphroditus in high esteem. That means to respect, show honor. Paul used Epaphroditus as an example because he sacrificed in his service to others in the Kingdom of God.
Whomever you highly respect reflects the priorities in your life. When someone demonstrates those things that we deeply value, that person’s value goes up. We must be careful to ask ourselves what characteristics do we hold in high value in someone else. Normally, we will seek to emulate those characteristics.
“Therefore I have sent him all the more eagerly so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be less concerned about you. Receive him then in the Lord with all joy, and hold men like him in high regard; because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.” Philippians 2:28-30 NASB
