Happiness vs Joy

Timeless truths from John 15:10-11.

Happiness is circumstantial and conditional. Joy is based on the presence of Christ in you. It is also conditional but not circumstantial. The only way to experience true JOY is to love God and others. Then God’s joy will be complete or full.

Joy rooted in God’s love is not circumstantial. It is an overwhelming peace even during the toughest of trials. God’s joy can be present even in times of sadness and brokenness. It is a joy that supersedes these difficult times.

The joy of Jesus is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. As we walk in surrender to the Holy Spirit, the Joy of Jesus permeates our soul. While it is difficult to describe joy, it is a settled contentment about the present and excitement about eternity.

Walk in God’s joy today!

“If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love. “I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” John‬ ‭15:10-11‬ ‭HCSB‬‬
